Spotted: Fashion of Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 4
NEW YORK– “Gossip Girl” Episode 4 of Season 2, “The Ex-Files,” marks the first day of school season and the first day of the senior year for GG people. As we begin this compilation we anticipate another explosion of fashion (including school uniforms) and drama which portrays Upper East side so well. We also intend to improve quality of images we post. While we did our best to ID as much as we could, there are still few mystery items — so, bear with us until we hear back from GG PR. XOXO
All right, boys in school uniform — so manly. While Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick) varies his uniform, Dan Humphrey (played by Penn Badgley) is wearing pretty much the same he was wearing last year. Maybe he even has the same bag (can’t remember).
Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively) considers not going to school because of her breakup with Dan but eventually does. Serena’s uniform is by French Toast combined with James Perse Mini Jersey (retails for $44), Maison Martin Margiela west, Ralph Lauren tartan skinny tie and floral ballet flats that look a lot like London Sole. She is also wearing beige Veronique Branquinho shoes. Serena’s grey leather bag and a scarf are still mystery items. Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana has very similar silk scarves though.
Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) tries to recruit new groupies at school. Blair is wearing a Jennifer Behr double row crystal hairband with Swarovski crystals (retails for $188) and Alexandra Vidal ivory lace blouse. Her white bag is the mystery items.
Over at the gallery Catherine (played by Madchen Amick) comes in to give Vanessa (played by Jessica Szohr) a $5000 gift for her not seeing Nate. While we can’t ID Vanessa’s purple top which she accessorized with a $726 Zoe Chicco gold chain necklace and Rebecca Minkoff Simone Sunshine clutch (retails for $250), Catherine is wearing The Row bandage dress (we saw the dress on Christina Ricci at an event in December 2007).
Here comes new student Amanda Lasher. Here, Amanda is wearing Urban Outfitters booties.
Lily van der Woodsen (played by Kelly Rutherford) comes to see Rufus Humphrey in search for a friend. Lily is wearing a Stella McCartney floral blouse from her Spring 2008 Collection, Van Cleef and Arpels necklace and earrings and carries beige Hermes Birkin bag.

Vanessa talks to Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) at school. Jenny’s wearing a school uniform by French Toast accessorized with a Disney Couture bangle, white Gilliano bag and Aldo Maddie shoes (on sale now).
Blair blackmails Catherine while both of them are wearing mystery outfits. Catherine’s dress is our favorite mystery item of the post.
Serena is on a triple date with Dan and Amanda Lasher. Serena is sporting a Herve Leger bandage dress and a classic Chanel bag with metal hardware.
Vanessa really likes color purple these days. So, there we have two more mystery items!
So, this fourth episode of the second season culminates in a major shift of power from Blair to Serena as Serena gives her pink Chanel scarf to Blair. Here, Serena’s wearing French Toast uniform, Veronique Branquinho shoes (retail for about $274), Viktor & Rolf t-shirt, Ralph Lauren tie, Schumacher vest, LAI bag and Kateri Daman bracelet. Meanwhile Blair wears a Zara blouse and Cynthia Steffe skirt accessorized with pink Chanel scarf she received from Serena, Cole Haan shoes, Susan Daniels headband and Gianfranco Ferre bag. XOXO
