Spotted: Fashion of Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 6
NEW YORK — “Gossip Girl” Episode 6 of Season 2, “New Haven Can Wait,” is all about Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen – specifically about their competitiveness that drives them apart almost destroying their friendship. It culminates in a big cat-fight between Blair and Serena. When it seems that nothing can salvage their friendship, Blair and Serena somehow manage to reconcile. No wonder, GG still has a few episodes to air.
These events take place at Yale University, but in real life the production company used Columbia University as backdrop while filming this episode.

The above is from Blair Waldorf’s dream. The outfit is the mystery, but something else comes to mind. Who said this: “Ooh, baby, you are so talented! And they are so DUMB!” Obviously, Serena van der Woodsen dominates this scene in her Ralph Laurentiered white dress. Then Blair wakes up wearing an electric blue ruffled halter and sees a photo of Serena on Page Six of “New York Post.” Serena is wearing Diane von Furstenberg Iseletti vest, Nine West IceBlue boots, Rich & Skinny jeans, Gemma Redux SAS necklace and Celine bag.
Blair Waldorf is wearing a Paul Smith green cardigan and tie with Diane von Furstenberg Martine green skirt and yellow Catehrine Malandrino silk blouse. Blair accessorized with Chloe shoes and a black Sang A. River crocodile tote (retails for $9500). Meanwhile Serena van der Woodsen’s style appears to be more dominant. She is wearing a striped Ralph Lauren jacket. The jacket is off-season and out-of-stock, unfortunately. Serena mixes and matches her jacket with Alice + Olivia blouse, Rich & Skinny jeans, Michael Kors boots and Celine over-sized hobo bag.
Blair’s green Catherine Malandrino dress gets ruined in the fight, and she loses her Susan Daniels silk bow headband in grey. The dress is on sale for $417 (regular is $595) at Nieman Marcus, and the hadband is available from Wink NYC for $52. Blair’s lovely purse is the mystery item. Serena is wearing a Black Halo dress (retails for about $300+) and accessorizes with Alexis Bittar bracelet and Jimmy Choo stilettos.
This is the moment when the girls put aside their differences. Blair is wearing an Anna Sui blouse, L.A.M.B. plaid pencil skirt and bucket hat, bag, Claudine shoes by Coach. Serena is dressed in a Joie Larissa dress, Chloe suede booties and carries her favorite Celine bag.
