Stars Shine At 2008 CFDA Fashion Awards
NEW YORK – Big fashion event was held at the New York Public Library last night. American fashion industry’s biggest and brightest designers got together to honor each other. Os course, the designers enlisted A-list celebrity clientele to display their latest creations.
Unfortunately, the mood of attendees was saddened by untimely passing away of a fashion icon, Yves Saint Laurent, who died Sunday of brain cancer at age 71. CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg opened the ceremony with a tribute. She said, “Yves was an artist who always surprised us. He used to say he wanted to be Matisse, but I think Matisse would have wanted to be him…”
The whole scene was glam and chic, coverage of which is a bit beyond the scope of this web site. However, since we were there and because the event is like the Oscars of fashion industry, we decided to show you some photos from the event. So, buckle up and let us show you what we’ve got.
