Jessica Simpson visited town to check on her Macy’s Collection. The Jessica Simpson Collection is quite extensive and includes footwear, bags, apparel and fragrances. It has been selling at Macy’s since November 3, 2007.

Even though the Collection consists of inexpensive items (meaning sacrificed quality of materials), it attracts strong and positive consumer ratings. While Zac sported his slick but down-to-earth look dressed in a Brooks Brothers blazer and shirt and Converse sneakers, Vanessa shone and sparkled in her sophisticated Kaufman Franco shift dress.

By the way, Zac Effron will not star in “Pirates of the Caribbean 4.” Effron had been rumored to trail Orlando Bloom as the young rogue under Captain Jack Sparrow in the sequel.

NEW YORK — Actress Kate Bosworth attended The Fashion Group International’s 25th Annual Night of Stars on October 23. Kate was wearing a Burberry Prorsum dress from their Fall 2008 Collection accessorized with Burberry Prorsum Ruched Cross Strap Platform Pumps ($695) and Burberry clutch. Of course, Kate had to look her best (and she did!) as she arrived at Cipriani Wall Street Restaurant to honor Bubrerry creative director Christopher Bailey with the “Designer of the Year” Award.

NEW YORK — Besides being Broadway debutante, actress Katie Holmes is also flexing her fashion muscles these days. Holmes is collaborating with celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang on creating designer apparel. The line is called Holmes & Yang  (Holmes Yang) and is limited to a few pieces created exclusively for “friends and their daughters.” So, don’t try to ask sales associate at your local Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus about Holmes & Young collection.

Jeanne Yang, who has worked with Brooke Shields in the past, is the one responsible for Katie Holmes’ amazing style transformation. As the result, Holmes & Young label was created to convey Katie’s personalized style.

Katie Holmes took her fashion label public at the Hollywood premiere of “Tropic Thunder” back in August 2008 when she walked red carped wearing an ensable consisting of a navy leather halter top and blue silk skirt. NEW YORK — Actress Katie Holmes made her Broadway debut in much-anticipated Arthur Miller’s revival play “All My Sons” on Thursday night. After months of hard work, rehearsals and previews nothing spoiled Katie’s triumph — even large anti-Scientology protests outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater on West 45th Street where premiere took place.

There were about 35 protesters just down the block from the theater carrying posters and chanting ”Scientology kills,” “Save Katie, Keep Tom” and “Run, Katie, Run.” Even though New York Police Department granted the permit to conduct the protest, there were more than three dozen police officers to keep order.

Katie is said to be so right for the part she is playing. Her celebrity status also generats much buzz about the play. “All My Sons” grossed more than $680,000 during its first week of previews.

NEW YORK — Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber attended the New York screening of Madonna’s short comedy, “Filth and Wisdom” on Monday night.

Watts, who is pregnant with her second child, was dressed in a purple satin Dolce & Gabbana dress accessorized with a grey metallic clutch and Vera Wang rhinestone snake collar.

When we saw Naomi, whom by the way we like very much, we thought that Dolce & Gabbana fashion house is not that good at making maternity apparel. Unfortunately Naomi’s outfit did not impress us at all. The dress did not fit her right, and the snake necklace with the dress was clearly mismatched.

NEW YORK — Newlywed model Beth Ostrosky attended the New York screening of “Filth and Wisdom” on Monday night, but Beth’s husband self-proclaimed King of All Media, Howard Stern, was nowhere in sight. Nevertheless, Beth flashed a big smile and looked very happy AND lovely in her tweed bustier dress and open-toe shoes.

In case you’ve already forgotten, Beth Ostrosky and Howard Stern tied the knot during a private ceremony at Manhattan’s upscale restaurant Le Cirque on October 3rd. Beth was dressed in a white Marchesa cut-out gown and carried purple lilies – see the pictures inside.
