WESTCHESTER, NY — Actress Jessica Alba and Chris Messina began filming their new movie An Invisible Sign of My Own in New York last week. It’s a heartfelt story exploring the complicated connections between children and adults. The movie is based on a novel by Aimee Bender and is directed by Marilyn Agrelo.
It’s not a coincidence that Jessica Alba looks like a geek, and that math equations are written all over her tote bag. Jessica plays a math whiz, Mona Gray, who systematically withdraws from life after a mysterious illness leaves her father all but a shell of his former self.
When Jessica’s character gets a job as the math teacher at an elementary school, she discovers she has an unorthodox talent for teaching and finds herself thrust back into life again, with children to care for, a man to love, and a reason to live.

Jessica Simpson visited town to check on her Macy’s Collection. The Jessica Simpson Collection is quite extensive and includes footwear, bags, apparel and fragrances. It has been selling at Macy’s since November 3, 2007.
Even though the Collection consists of inexpensive items (meaning sacrificed quality of materials), it attracts strong and positive consumer ratings. An average item from Jessica Simpson Collection is rated 4.5+ out of 5. And yes, Jessica Simpson likes to promote her own accessories — especially bags!
In case you didn’t know yet, Jessica’s BFF and stylist Ken Paves has been accidentally hit in a face with a paparazzo’s camera yesterday. Google it, there are some bloody pictures of Ken out there!
If you don’t know this face yet, you will soon! This is British actor Ben Barnes who appears alongside Jessica Biel in “Easy Virtue.” The movie premieres in the UK on November 7th.
Ben just posed for an ad for GAP. In the ad, which reads ‘Light Up Your Own PATH,’ Ben is wearing a green cashmere v-neck sweater ($138). Don’t try to look for this sweater as it hasn’t started shipping yet.

NEW YORK — Hollywood’s up-and-coming power couple Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens attended US Magazine’s Annual Hot Hollywood Issue party on October 21st. While Zac sported his slick but down-to-earth look dressed in a Brooks Brothers blazer and shirt and Converse sneakers, Vanessa shone and sparkled in her sophisticated Kaufman Franco shift dress.
By the way, Zac Effron will not star in “Pirates of the Caribbean 4.” Effron had been rumored to trail Orlando Bloom as the young rogue under Captain Jack Sparrow in the sequel.

BERLIN, GERMANY – Brad Pitt looks very French in his grungy outfit of a World War II eara resistance fighter.
Brad is directed by Quentin Tarantino in their latest movie, “Inglorious Basterds,” (it’s purposely spelled incorrectly) which is currently filming in Berlin. The movie is about a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as “The Basterds” whose purpose was to spread fear by scalping and brutally killing German soldiers in Nazi-occupied France during World War 2. Brad will be in Germany for the next three months filming the movie.
Let’s see if Brad’s celebrity will turn such classic items as P-coat and neck scarf into a trend.
LOS ANGELES, CA — TV star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad premiered her Spring 2009 Collection during LA Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Tuesday, October 14. It is quite a nice collection consisting of 41 looks (up 11 looks from March 2008) which include girly dresses, shorts and tops.
The Collection showed some nice ’70s boho flavour as well as some weird over-sized floral hair accessories. Overall the Collection looks LA and chic — even though we all know that Conrad’s apparel is really an inexpensive one.
